Skausmingai spaudžia širdį išvydus priartintą dolerio piramidę su grėsmingai žvelgiančia akimi skrosdama visus juodus piniginius sandėrius už kuriuos teks kentėti. Tai itin aktualus viršelio akcentas nūdienoje, kviečiantis pažvelgti giliau į tai kas yra pinigai ir kas stovi už jų. Pirmieji lenkai Animal Machine neišsiskiria originalumu, nors groja gan įtaigų harsh noise. Statiškos žemos srovės ir staigūs šaunantys į viršų aukšti proveržiai yra vieninteliai elementai suteikiantys įrašui dinamiškumo. Vietomis, atrodo, lyg būtų perjungtas efektas, triukšmas minimizuojasi, ir tai yra didelis minusas. Motyvai kartojasi, tampa nuobodoka, todėl per 23 minučių „The eye of god“ spėju sukalbėt 20 sveika marija ir pora Tėve mūsų.
Į kito, airių projekto Null/Void (beje, geras pavadinimas!) garsus mano ausys stiebte stiebiasi. Galbūt išjungčiau grotuvą jei Null/Void grotų kažką arti A.M. bet laimei šie tipai pasirinko giluminį kelią, kaip kokie šachtininkai. Toliau tęsdami dolerio temą su „Leviticus“ surenka A.M. metu išmėtytą energiją grodami statišką drone noise. „Judge“ tai bangų pavidalo gabalas su daugialypių žemų vibracijų ir white noise deriniu. Bangos gan ilgos ir nesupykčiau, kad būtų dar ilgesnės. Aplamai 4-5 min. gabalai galėtų būti dvigubai ilgesni kaip tokiam meditatyviam noisui. Matyt tamsta įtarė kad klausytojams gali pabosti. „Lamentations“ neria dar giliau, iš šito sūkurio vis išnyra daugybė skirtingų dronų, taigi gali pasirinkti kurią(s) išstatyti į pirmajį klausymosi planą, arba paskęsti visuose. Na bet faktas tas, kad atlikta tikrai plastiškai, be jokių nereikalingų priedų. Paskutinis gabalas „Chronicles“ sako man, kad gal ir gerai kad jis paskutinis. Tipo mažu ir užteks. Nors čia vietomis reikalai dar smagesni – išlenda metaliniai cypsmai (panašus į trilerių kulminacijas), garsų tėkmė įgyja įtampą ir su lyg 7 min. aš gaunu išrišimą.
Šis relyzas man priminė statiškumo žavesį, kuris asocijuojasi su išmintim ir vidine ramybe. Todėl rekomenduoju Null/Void ir leiblą Idrone Park – tegyvuoja rankų gamybos viršeliai!
It hurts my heart to see a zoomed pyramid from the dollar banknote, and its eye watches you in a threatening way, dissecting all those black deals you’ve made, for which you’ll have to suffer. It’s a very actual accent of the cover artwork, inviting us to introspect what the money is and what hides behind it. The first Polish Animal Machine isn’t very original, though it plays quite a forcible harsh noise. Low static streams and sudden shooting sallies are the only elements giving dynamics to the recording. In some places it seems as if the pedal effect is changing and the noise minimizes, that is a big minus. The motives repeat, it gets a little boring so in 23 minutes of “The eye of god” I’ve managed to pray 20 Hail Mary and a few Lord’s Prayers.
My ears are climbing to the other – Irish project Null/Void (good name!). perhaps I would switch off the player if they sounded the same as Animal Machine, but luckily Null/Void have chosen an abyssal, digger way. They continue a dollar theme and with “Leviticus” playing static drone noise they gather up the energy that A.M. has dispersed. “Judge” is a wave type track with a blend of multiple low vibrations and white noise. Waves are quite long though it could be longer. Generally, those 4-5 min tracks could be twice as long for such meditative noise. Perhaps the man behind Null/Void thought that it would be too much. “Lamentations” dives even much deeper, many drones are coming up from this vortex, so you can choose which one you would like to put into front. Or just to drown in all of them. The fact is that it’s made very plastic, no need of any other additions. The last track “Chronicles” tells me that maybe it’s good that it’s the final one. However, things are becoming more and more interesting (metallic squeaks) and the 7th minute I get remission.
This release reminded me of the beauty of the static that is associated with wisdom and inner calmness. So I recommend Null/Void and Idrone Park label – viva handcrafted covers!
