Having nothing in common but the name with the Swedish Deadwood, this concise CDR is the work of one Adam Baker, apparently from England. What we have here is six tracks of fairly low-key, probably software-based soundscapery of the more or less lowercase variety. The first piece falls back on some quite pedestrian synthesiser squiggles, but things start to get more interesting as the disc goes on. 'Rain' develops more of a drone element, with some soft, asynchronous percussive goings-on, and a sort of humidity to the soundfield that complements the title. Field recordings and acoustic sounds crop up at points. It's all very carefully put together, and quite well executed, apart from the synth noodling at points. The sound is very clear throughout. Nonetheless it's very generic music - there's nothing about it that really stands out or remains in memory after listening. Anyway, good enough background sound for a rainy afternoon, at the very least.
