This is a second release of this collaboration, the first one was reviewed in Introspect of March 2009. Todd Novosad runs the label Swamp Of Pus and releases as Nova-Sak, he also made the website for the Smell The Stench-label.
So far for the objective facts...
If John Gross and Todd Novosad are zoologists, they must have taken these recordings on some odd planet indeed.
In the first part a dark pulse drags us through the underbrush. The second track takes us to a clearing to be attacked by a giant bug. A cave already opens up and track three deepens the paranoia: ‘who’s screaming..?’
In the last part a dark ritual is performed, the experience of which is but half remembered after the disc comes to a halt.
Some journey...
But we don’t have to travel lightyears to visit these jungle vaults. The Zoologist brings them to us like the old discovery travellers did fossil samples, pinned moths and stuffed animals and gives the remote experience of the orgastic rites he has joined in those caves.
